After a request from in another thread , I decided I'd take a crack at cleaning up the Angry Planes mod that was recently found to be infected. Interesting.So you have the virus but its uninstalled or block access to the server? How do you not have the virus if it was packed with the mod? You must have it somewhereEdit:I get it, the compiler didn't run so it didn't install the virus gotcha.I don't have the virus myself.

With these mods, I'll wait until an real complete one comes out from a well reputable source.Still interesting, I guess most people though an AV online was good enough. I haven't been infected with a virus for years, we're talking almost a decade lol.

Well, here's what. While in the.asi form, an AV can't pick it up.

But it has to connect to the guy's server and download the files, so that should have been stopped by your software or hardware firewall. Then, it has to compile the executable before it can run it. The AV should pick up the contents of the downloaded file before it can compile AND it most definitely should pick up the executable once it is compiled as soon as it tries to run, and quarantine it. Even if then that fails, when it tries to upload the data to the server, the firewall(s) should again stop that from happening. A lot has to fail for this to work, or the user has to be severely unprotected to begin with. To be clear, I still went ahead and changed my crucial passwords, but I'm 99.9% confident that I was not infected.
