Outlook Stuck At Processing
Hello everyone!I have a head-scratching scenario here and wanted to see if anyone here ran into the same issue. The Scenario: There are 10 identical computers all of which I built myself. All 10 have the same hardware and are using the exact same software.OS included (Win 10). As a matter of fact, I built one of them, then captured an image of the master, then slapped the image onto the remaining 9 workstations. All 10 are running MS Office 2016 with the latest version of MS Exchange. They even got a brand new server.
The building itself is old and the wiring seems to be spotty but working at best (we did not run the cabling.someone else did). All 10 workstations are not using add-ins for Outlook. The Issue: One user in particular is having issues with their Outlook. At random, when they close and re-open Outlook, it will appear to load.you see the 'processing' message but nothing actually happens.like the wheels are spinning but not actually going anywhere.Edit. The only way I have been able to resolve this issue, is to delete the entire account on the workstation and re-create a new one.Edited Feb 8, 2016 at 18:12 UTC. I will have to find out if KB3114409 from Dec 8th has been installed on the offending device.
Though.it is still interesting that this is only happening with one user.Chris9496 wrote:I just had another thought that can cause the same thing to happen. If user A had access permissions to user B mailbox and user B has since been disabled but not removed from user A inbox then it will cause this type of behavior.
This exact scenario has hit me a couple of times. While I do respect that this is a valid answer this is definitely not the case. User A has access to only User A mailbox. User B only has access to User B mailbox. Thanks again for your help Chris - very much appreciated.
Did you ever find a solution to this problem?I have a client that also is having the same problem. The exception is that they are using pop mail and not connected to an Exchange Server. There are two valid Outlook profiles and when starting Outlook, it is stuck on processing. I have created new Outlook profiles and that worked for a day.
I have stopped all add-ins from loading and run a quick repair and on-line repair.I also created a 'test' Outlook profile, and Outlook opened. I closed Outlook, and tried the valid Outlook profiles without success.
I then started Outlook with the test user profile, Outlook opened, then I opened one of the valid Outlook profiles PST's. I closed Outlook.
And now I can open Outlook using both of the valid profiles.Just putting this information out there to see if anyone has any ideas and to see if this leads to a possible solution. I have one client with one machine that is having this exact same issue with Outlook 2016.
This client has a couple of other machines running Outlook 2016 without issues, and I have other clients running Outlook 2016 without issues. It is just this one specific machine. Running Outlook in safe mode once, then back in normal mode fixes the problem for a day or two.
Outlook Stuck At Processing
Removing the OST file and letting Outlook re-download the email fixes it for a day or two. Removing the profile all together and setting up a new profile fixes it for about a week. I even formatted the hard drive and reinstalled everything, that worked for about two weeks, and now. The problem is back. The affected machine was purchased in November of 2015, with Win 7 Pro and Office H&B 2016. Prior to that he had been using a machine with Win 7 Pro and Office H&B 2013, without any issues (it was stolen, hence the replacement).I have been fighting this since December, and it is driving me and my client nuts.
Has anyone found a solution that not only works, but keeps working? (Up Front admission: I'm an experienced 'user' but not an IT person but I am solo and have no tech support people to call on for help - so I am grateful to come across this thread that covers the problem i have - which is confounding me!)I am having the same chronic problem with Outlook outlined above and i can't even run it in safe mode - I get the message.' We're sorry, but Outlook has run into an error that is preventing it from working correctly.
