Mon 7 Jun 2010 12:38Ford Focus 2 1.8 TDCI - Ford servicing. Ben 10Took my almost 3 year old '07 Focus in to Main Ford dealership today to have the aircon regassed. This they duly did then phoned me to say the pollen filter was totally blocked. I had noticed reduced airflow from vents over last few months. They stated it had not been changed since it came out of the factory. This item should be changed as part of yearly service. So the Ford independant garage I had used for the last two services, had not changed the pollen filter.
Replacing it cost me almost £60. I will be taking this up with the garage concerned and contacting Ford Customer Relationship Dept.I always though the big Ford garages would scrimp and charge for fictitious work or parts. And the small independant would carry out a thorough job.Wrong on this one. Beware whoever you get serviced with. Especially when you have to get the thing serviced for the warranty.Edited by Ben 10 on at 12:38. Mon 7 Jun 2010 16:05Ford Focus 2 1.8 TDCI - Ford servicing. When the Citroen dealership serviced my car before selling it to me, not only did they tick boxes on the service schedule that I suspected hadn't been touched (pollen filter was one.), they also ticked boxes that only applied to diesel cars. My car is a petrol. It seems to me the technician/service desk person who filled in the checklist didn't even know what car it was for.I get my cars serviced by the dealer whilst under warranty, but I do my own interim services. Once out of warranty, I do all the work myself. It means getting your hands dirty, but I love it!Edited by TheOilBurner on at 16:06.
